World of Warcraft Horde Guide

In this WoW Horde Guide I’ll introduce you to the Horde faction and its associated races.

The five races that make up the Horde faction are the Blood Elves, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and the Undead. There’re advantages and disadvantages to each of the races so know them before you make your choice.

Warcraft Horde Guide- 5 Races

Blood Elves:

After the destruction of their kingdom in the Third War by the Scourge the High Elves became known as the Blood Elves.

You can buy the Hawstrider mount for the Blood Elf at Thuron’s Livery in Silvermoon. Most Blood Elves tend to be either Mages or Warlocks and to a lesser degree Hunters and Warriors.

Orcs:

Orcs have a long tradition as Warriors and this in turn is seen in many of their characteristics. For example their weapon is the axe and they fight with pure brute strength. So if this is your playing style then the Orc may be a good match. Death Knights, Hunters, Rogues, Shamans, Warlocks, and Warriors are the classes available to Orcs. Worgs, large wolves, serve as the Orcs’ mount.

Tauren:

If your play style favors combat, then another great choice is the Tauren. This is due to them being incredibly strong and having really good stamina especially in combat.

One really cool ability of Taurens is called War Stomp. This allows them to communicate with spirits which in turn shake the very Earth and stun their enemies.

The Tauren’s mount choice is limited given their huge size. One option is the Kodo, a large reptile creature.

Taurens can be Druids, Shamans, Hunters, Warriors, and Death Knights.

Trolls:

The least common race in all of Warcraft are the Trolls. Similar to the Orc, they’re fantastic in combat. The weapon of choice is the Throwing Spear and in addition they can go into a state known as Berserker which gives them increase speed for attack and allows them to cast spells.

Trolls can be Priests, Rogues, Warriors, Mages, Hunters, and Shamans. Raptors are what the Trolls use as mounts.

Undead:

Finally the Undead, also known as Forsaken, can belong to the Death Knight, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior classes. The mount for this race is the Skeletal Horse. Two cool things about the Undead is that they don’t breathe so they can stay underwater and they can also gain strength by eating the flesh of other races.
