Discovering What Video Game Systems Are All About
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on February 9th, 2010
Before, people were content with watching television or listening to the radio as their main means of entertainment. Today’s generation thirst for more. What they want is a more interactive form of entertainment, which is now made possible through video game systems.
If you are an 80’s baby, then you’ll probably be familiar with how to play Super Nintendo. Street Fighter, Grand Turismo and of course The Super Mario Brothers are just a few of the more familiar games of those times. The much younger generation of today is fond of their Sony PlayStation, X-Box Gaming Console, PSP and Nintendo Wii.
What really makes the video game systems of today more special in comparison to what we have had in the past? Well, the best answer to give is the interactivity. During earlier times, the joystick was probably the only medium through which we play games and interact with another player, or with the virtual world that we see through the screen. Today, playing video game systems has become more complicated, providing more that just the monitor and a joystick that we have grown up with. New gadgets and accessories are introduced and designed to be used in playing these video games, depending on the gaming console that you prefer. Most of them require the player to not just use his fingers on the joystick. Some video games require the movement of arms and legs in order to play the game properly.
The good part is that a player is not considered a couch potato anymore. This is primarily because he is obliged to do various movements with different parts of his body for the sake of playing the video game the proper way. Say the Nintendo Wii for example, it offers various games that allow physical activities while playing them. So not only are you enjoying the game, you are also exercising your body at the same time.
Today’s video game systems are made more interactive, even the kids are very fond of playing them. In fact, even a toddler can now play certain types of video games. Since the graphics are much more sophisticated making them look like they are real, more and more people have become interested in playing these games. Their reasons vary and may be for the purpose of bonding with their families, relaxation away from studies or work, or just bonding with their best friend.
Most of these video game systems are user friendly so that even a 4 year old can understand how to use them. For parents who have kids that are fond on playing those gaming consoles, make sure that you are able to supervise when they play certain games as they may not be suitable for their young age. Certain video games may include violence that can affect the way of life of your child later as he grows up. Obviously, these games are not intended to harm or pollute someone mind. Make sure that your kids are getting just enough play that they need to get. Its much better to let them play video games that are appropriate for their understanding and age.

Wii, Xbox 360 Or PS3?

Sales
If you are looking into sales alone then the Wii outsells everything. However from my opinion (a person who has owned all of the Nintendo Consoles) this has been the worse console that Nintendo have ever made. So why is this?
The major reason why is simply because they do not give a damn about all of the past fans that made them money before the Wii, the majority of new games are aimed at idiots and Nintendo fans rarely see the light of day. Mario Kart wii sold because they toned it down to the the family but in all honesty it was a pants game. As well as this they are copying Mario Galaxy by adding in a few variations to levels in Mario Galaxy 2.
So by that paragraph you can see that the Wii is out of in it my opinion.
Online and other
The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. Although the online play is all free, it is very poor and it features many games with people unable to speak your language. Okay, but why not add some language barriers like Microsoft? Sure the PS3 has Blu-Ray but that seems to be all that it has going for it.
The 360 has the best games, the best experience when playing and a really good online community. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. Getting a 360 or a PS3 is wise.
To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.
A New Class of Xbox 360 Accessories To Improve Upon Xbox 360 Games
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on November 26th, 2009
You probably already know it, Xbox 360 Games offer some of the most incredibly immersive experiences anywhere, online or off. With hit titles like Halo, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Panzer General : Allied Assault, it’s tricky to see what else could probably improve gameplay any more than the long way it’s already come. In fact , it wasn’t but a few years gone that clunky old-style controllers were still being used. Today the user interface has improved noticeably, with on-board accelerometers to process spatial information for human kinetics in gaming. But something on the horizon may be the most revolutionary thing to hit videogaming at home in our time.
Xbox 360 games can be closely matched to Xbox 360 Accessories for the most continued experience of truly immersive gameplay. But what if there were no requirement for any Xbox 360 accessories save one?One ueber-accessory to replace all of them? Long the raw material of science-fiction and comic books, this latest of Xbox 360 Accessories would also be the last. It would be the one thing needed to play all the Xbox 360 games made from then on.
Never heard of it? That’s as it was only in the near past announced by Microsoft. It is a electronic eye of sorts that may obliterate the requirement for physical controllers, hardware that is held in one’s hand. This new soon-to-come electronic eye will sense player movements in space, so handheld controllers with built-in accelerometers won’t be mandatory. This latest advance in gaming technology is scheduled to be released within the next year or two, and should be mounted separately from the console. But all user movement info will be supplied to the console just the same. Attempt to imagine playing computer games with nothing less than your own body and body movements!
This undoubted wizardry eye that Microsoft has been developing will even track eye movements to switch perspective in a first-person shooter. Imagine Halo or Call of Duty or medal of honour without annoying controllers but with instead a light gun and your own body and your own eyes! As you turn right the screen-capture reveals views to your right side, and as you turn left the panorama shifts with you!
So while today’s Xbox 360 games are quite complicated, the Xbox accessories to come will require software that rethinks the whole concept of onscreen and off. Hardware and software exist in a symbiotic relationship, and it is going to be fascinating to see what transpires next now the hardware has taken a quantum jump forward!
