Mage – Using the Elements To His Advantage

Mages are casting damage dealers that use mana to cast their spells. They use different types of spells to deal damage like Arcane, Fire and Frost, and their popular spells are Frost/fire Bolts and Arcane missiles.

The Mage class can be chosen by the Gnome, Draenei and Human races of the Alliance and by the Troll, Undead and Blood Elf races of the Horde. A Mage will always feel very welcome in any team, group or raid. He has a few buffs he can cast and the most popular one is definitely the Arcane Brilliance popularly called the Intelect Buff. However, the Int buff is just one of the reasons why the Mage class is so popular. Click here to watch the video WoW Mage Guide

A mage is also famous for his “consumables”, meaning he can make food & water for his own purposes and for other players as well. These special “consumables” a Mage can make will restore one’s hp and mana and are always a need. When it comes to the Crowd Control, Mages can Polymorph any Beast or Humanoid creature. Nowadays there is a lot of tank and spank fights which are fairly easy but nevertheless, crowd control Mages possess, is always welcome.

With all these useful abilities and buffs Mages have at hand, they have become one of the ultimate classes in WoW when it comes to popularity but still, what makes them good is their abilities to deal damage. His spells are based on Arcane, Fire and Frost damage. Spells like Blizzard, Flame Strike, Arcane Explosion, Cone of Cold and other damaging spells do damage on multiple mobs and can place a Mage on top of the damage meters. A Mage also has AoE spells like Blizzard, Arcane Explosion, Flame Strike, Cone of Cold, etc. which deal a lot of damage to multiple targets. Great thing about Arcane is that the tree provides the Mage with quite a bit of mana efficient talents, several devastating spells and more. The Fire talent tree has always been seen as the talent tree which should be followed by Mages that look purely at the damage output. With quite a few damaging spells taken up in the tree and a lot of talents that increase the critical strike rating of the Mage, Fire is definitely a great choice for Mages that just want to get the most damage out of their Mage. When we talk about Mages who are aiming for pure dps, then we are talking about the Fire talent build. This talent tree will offer offensive damage abilities and spells to a Mage as well as an increased crit strike rating which all together would give your mage an astonishing damage output.

Since you can also stun players and summon a Water Elemental to fight at your side, the Frost tree is great in PvP and also a fun choice for PvE. This talent tree will offer you many spells with the burst damage, crowd control spells like Slow, and it will also grant you a protective shield. By using Frost spells you would also be able to summon a special kind of companion – the Water Elemental that will help you in any fight, either PvP or PvE. The Mage class is fun to play since you can combine the three talent trees as you prefer and try out the new builds.

In time, by changing and combining all of the three talent builds you will surely find the perfect build to suit your character and you will become one of the best damage dealers in PvP and PvE. World of Warcraft Mage Guide

In WoW, you may find that you prefer either combat or being a spell caster. If you like magic and want to learn about one of the best spell casters in Warcraft then read this WoW Mage Guide.

As a spell caster Mage are fantastic. Their talents at using fire, frost and the arcane are unmatched in Warcraft. Yes, Mages are strong with magic but they lack stength in combat. Mages are not well armored or weaponized, in fact they only wear cloth and weild wands, daggers, swords, and staves. But they have an arsenal of spells that allow Mages to destroy their enemies from a safe distance. Two interesting things that Mages can do with their magic is create food and drink to restore other players and teleport to distant parts of the world with the use of portals. Mages can be played by the Human, Gnome, Undead, Troll, Blood Elf and Draenei races. Now let’s turn our attention in the WoW Mage guide to the strengths and weakness of this class.

To learn more about the Mage read the WoW Mage Guide

Mage Strengths:

One of the major strengths of Mages is that they can use spells to inflict major damage to single and even multiple targets. However if the battle isn’t going well then the Mage can do 2 things. Firstly, they can hold off enemies with magic and secondly they’re masters of escape with their Frost Nova, Blink and Ice Armor spells.

As mentioned before, they are fantastic at launching attacks from long distances and avoid taking damage themselves. They can transport themselves and other player through portals.

Mage Weaknesses:

The Mages lack of armor is the source of one major weakness of this class, making it difficult for them to survive much damage. They are not very good for melee at all so don’t choose the Mage class if you want to melee. Finally, they are great at magic but don’t have any spells that will heal them.

Cool Mage Spells:

As a conclusion to the WoW Mage guide I’ll mention some cool spells. Some of these can make up a little for some of their weaknesses.

  • Mirror Image- This will created duplicates of you that can then fight in battle.
  • Invisibility- Makes you invisible, but only for a short distance.
  • Water Elemental- Mages can summon a Water Elemental to fight in battle.
  • Ice Block and Ice Barrier- These spells can really be handy since they allow the mage to take some damage.
