Why You Shouldnt Buy Band Hero DS
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on November 26th, 2009
With the future release of Band Hero on its way to the DS the real question to ask is are all of these games getting too much or is there actually a demand for them?
When the time came when the first Guitar Hero game was announced for the DS there was actually quite a bit of excitement surronding it because of the fact it had not been done before. However this game didn’t come without any problems.
The main problem was the strangeness of the controller itself as you were literally damaging your hands when you were playing it as in reality the DS is way too small to contain extra peripherals. Although it hasnt actually been proved that your hands will suffer damage through this game, if you were to sit down and play it for an extended period of time I can tell you for a fact that the hands would hurt. There were other problems like not being able to pick a favourite guitar like the Gibson Les Paul Junior
When the drum add on came into the game it started to get slightly better as you didnt always have to go around hurting yourself when you played the game, however the add on wasnt needed as you could just use the screen.
People are interested in playing the guitar instrument on the DSi and this is still not happening despite the new release of Band Hero? The only feature that they have added to this new game is the ability to sing and this is not going to please anyone as is likely to annoy them more than anything.
How long is it before they start to introduce silly things like DJ equipment and one of those bass guitar amps.
DJ Hero is here

With the apparant success of Guitar Hero Activision have announced the new DJ Hero which is set to be released in October of this year. The real qustion to be asked here is that is going to be a huge hit or fall into the pit that Nintendo are digging for themselves.
They have already confirmed major artists like Black Eyed Peas and Eric Prydz being put on the game it is hard to see it won’t at least attract the crowd who are into that type of music. Of course buyers of the Guitar Hero World Tour are very unlikely to purchase this as it is the complete opposite music style. Not only this a poll done on a popular gaming website has shown that the majority of people do not actually want or even care about this game and to be honest it is completely understandable as playing in a rock band is a much higher dream than being a DJ.
The huge problem that Activision faces is actually the gamers themselves. Activision have managed to bring themselves out of a few years of bad games to become bigger than even EA now wth titles like Call of Duty and Assassins Creed it would be a huge shame if this didnt peform. There are far less DJ’s out there than instrument players so less people are going to buy the game.
Although this is a good innovative idea it really doesn't look like it is going to kick off in the same way that Guitar Hero did. Perhaps game developers should start making games for gamers again and not for the people that haven’t touched a game in their lives, a lot of people would rather buy the proper DJ equipment and DJ software than buy this game but until release date of October it is hard to say for sure how well this game will sell.
Of course if you are already a DJ headphones are very important and it is always good to have a pair that protects your ears when performing.
